The home page includes links to various city departments, city officials (city attorney, auditor, city council, etc.), “Where Can I…?” links (find my trash collection day, take my recyclables, view accident reports, find zoning information, etc.), a “311” link (single point of contact for non-emergency city services), press releases, general information about Columbus, and a “My Neighborhood” link. The home page presents a general menu that features buttons to find schedules, general information about state government, laws, acts, and legislation, information about the Ohio House and Ohio Senate, Executive and Judicial Branches, and Legislative Agencies. There are also search buttons that will allow you to look for information about current legislation. Finally, there is a box where you can enter your zip code and find out who your local representative or senator is (if you don’t know already).

The web site opens with an easy-to-use search interface at the top if you are looking for your congressman/woman (find by zip code or name). Just below and to the left of the opening search boxes, there is a “Write Your Representative”link: http://www.house.gov/writerep/

The home page also includes links to Offices and Resources on the left (including directories, calendars, etc.), a central panel with information about current matters before the house, search links for bills, the congressional record, or archived information, and a search box for roll call votes from current and previous congresses. On the right there are links to information about legislative branch agencies (including the senate and library of congress) as well as information about visiting Washington D.C.

The home page includes links for individual senators, committees, legislation & records, art & history (cool!), information for visitors and reference. Just clicking around will take you to fascinating information about the history of the senate, current committees, legislation, schedules and calendars, voting records, biographic information…and so much more. At the top right of the page there is a “Find Your Senators” button. There are also some very interesting links to feature articles, for example: “Oral History Project: Life in the Senate,” “Art in the Senate: A View of the Senate’s Past,”and “Discover the Senate Desks: A New Interactive Web Exhibit.” All quite fascinating material.!
